Donate to Lifeline Geelong Barwon Region
Lifeline Geelong welcomes donations from the community - whether it is by individuals, groups or businesses - and no amount is too small. Every donation helps. You can either donate using a one-off PayPal donation or you can arrange a regular direct debit fortnightly, monthly and quarterly or annually through your building society, credit union or credit card. A single one-off donation can be made by electronic transfer, cach, credit card, cheque or money order.
Op Shop Donations
Donations can also be in the form of goods where you can drop off your pre-loved clothes, toys, household goods and furniture to any of our Lifeline shops. We accept most goods that are in good condition and able to be resold.
Lifeline relies on community support in order to continue providing†vital services throughout†the†Geelong Barwon Region and all of Australia. There are several ways to help Lifeline out - by donation, corporate sponsorship, volunteers, fundraising, campaigns and our Lifeline shops.
Lifeline finances 80% of its revenue via fundraising activities and therefore†relies†heavily on the support of all Australians. The money we receive is divided up as - 8.9% for administration; 10.5% for fundraising and promotion; 80.5% for service support of our†telephone counselling.††
Financial donations can be made in the memory of a loved one,†leaving a bequest in your Will to Lifeline or giving a donation in celebration of a personal event. This is a significant way to keep the memory of a loved one alive and to contribute to helping others.
Geelong Corporate Support
Lifeline works with corporations in many ways including forming strategic partnerships where we work with your organisation to align our brands and values and continue to raise awareness of both organisations. Workplace giving is another way an organisation can help Lifeline where a group of employees donate a small weekly amount. Businesses can also support Lifeline through corporate volunteering where staff can volunteer with Lifeline which is great for staff morale, team building and diversifying their skills.
Lifeline Geelong Barwon Region encourages Geelong business to look at working with Lifeline as a means of helping people in its community and their own workforce, creating awareness of both Lifeline and their own products.
Lifeline Geelong Barwon Region is always looking for volunteers where people can learn new skills and make new friends while making a positive difference to the lives of other people in the Geelong community and surrounds. Lifeline has 11,000 volunteers Australia wide who support Lifeline's crisis support line, help raise funds, work in retail outlets or help with administration.†
Geelong community groups and organisations are encouraged to hold fundraising events for Lifeline and Lifeline Geelong Barwon Region†can help with information you may need about how to raise funds and running your own fundraising event.† We have a Community Fundraising Kit that has tools and information†to support your event with a range of fundraising ideas such as†trivia nights, fun runs and dress up days, morning teas and raffles.
Lifeline runs a number of national community campaigns each year to raise funds or promote awareness and you can help by raising awareness of our services and important mental health issues.†Currently we have the†Stress Down Day, an annual fundraising campaign held in June where people are encouraged to join in fun, stress reducing activities such as wearing slippers to work or school or dressing up or down and donate to Lifeline.
We also have a Preventing Suicide: You Can Do Something campaign which was launched March this year. This aims to create awareness of suicide in Australia and encourage help seeking as well as increase community involvement in suicide prevention.†Lifeline's Make Your Mark campaign aims at raising awareness about Indigenous suicide prevention in Australia and rally community support.
