Lifeline Geelong is part of the Lifeline Direct network and every day our staff and volunteers make a difference to people’s lives. We provide a broad range of programs and services that deliver information and support to the most vulnerable members of our community. We offer callers confidential, personal support from trained crisis supporters through our 24 hour telephone crisis support service.
In addition to providing a vital telephone support link, Lifeline Geelong has other branches to its business, all with the aim of educating and supporting the community and strengthening the organisation’s ability to provide vital services.
There are five Lifeline opportunity shops, known as ‘op shops’, open across the region that stock quality affordable second-hand goods. We rely on community donations to keep these retail outlets open. People can donate furniture, clothes and more to support these stores. Whilst we rely on people to volunteer in our stores, we also have other volunteer opportunities within our organisation available, including the important role of a volunteer telephone crisis supporter.
Lifeline Geelong Barwon Region is also an education provider in areas such as depression awareness, suicide prevention, crisis support, and mental health first aid. We offer a range of training courses to the community and businesses.
